Situated centrally in the hurling heartlands of Co Laois, Mountrath CS has developed a strong and proud tradition of hurling since opening in 2009.
MCS teams are competitive annually in Leinster GAA competitions from 1st Year through to 2nd Year, U16/Junior and U19/Senior.
MCS has had many successes in recent years at county and provincial levels with the highlight being in 2015 when the school won the Leinster B Senior hurling Championship and contested the All-Ireland Final in Semple Stadium, Thurles.
In 2018/2019, the MCS were Leinster 'A1' Junior Hurling Champions and Laois 1st Year hurling Champions.
As well as representing MCS with pride, our aim is to contribute to the development of well rounded young hurlers for club and county into the future.
MCS contributed no less than 9 past players to the successful Laois Senior hurling Panel in 2019.
