EXAMINATION CENTRE RULES & PROCEDURES
FOR MOCK EXAMS
The following instructions are for the benefit of everyone involved in the Exams and must be followed:
- Respect each person’s right to carry out the Exams without adding to their stress or discomfort.
- Obey the instructions of supervising teachers. If you are asked to move seat, please move immediately without question. No bags to be left in Room 2 and 3. Bags to be left on the bag racks. Bring only what you need on the day of your exam. Use your locker to store your belongings.
- Be on time (at least 10 minutes before start time) for each exam, fully prepared and with all your own equipment, and remain seated till allowed to leave.
- Students should bring in their own log tables (with no additional information written on them).
- If there is a late start to an exam students are expected to study in the hall until the exam starts. Students are allowed to bring two books and copies into the hall for study purposes (Leave them closed on the floor)
- Students must make a reasonable attempt to answer all questions. If you finish an exam early you may be allowed study for another exam with the supervising teacher’s permission after your paper has been collected. (Book should already be in) However, it is advisable to use the maximum amount of time.
- No one will be allowed out to toilet for the first half hour or final 15 minutes of the exam. Please respect other students by being considerate. If you must go to the toilet, raise your hand and wait for permission: sign the book going out AND on your return. Toilets open during exams – beside Dep. Principal’s Office. Toilets at PE office are out of bounds
- Sit in the same seat each day as allocated on the first day (unless moved by a teacher).
- Write your name, subject level & the subject teacher’s name at the top of your answer script before you start answering questions.
- All mobile phones and electronic equipment are to be switched off.
- If you don’t have a scheduled exam on any given day, you may study at home. Preferably you may come in and study in the hall quietly and respectful of others sitting exams. Please use this time to prepare for your State exams in June.
- As per normal school rules, students may not leave the school building without prior permission. It is expected that students attend school for the full day.
N.B. Copying is a serious offence. If a student is suspected of copying during an exam their paper may be cancelled and serious measures taken so please act wisely.
Normal School Rules apply throughout the exam period – full uniform, no make-up etc. Any breach of Exam Centre Rules will be recorded by teachers and you may expect to face discipline procedures – up to and including doing the exam again during Holiday Time! Please observe these rules, as we want to avoid any upset to any student. If you choose to wear make-up or not wear the appropriate uniform, please do not complain if a sanction is imposed.
This is your exam – Your choice!
